For 45 years, Thompson Rivers has taken pride in providing an excellent education to every student. Nearly 26,000 students study on its campuses in Kamloops and Williams Lake, or in distance or online courses and programs through Open Learning.

From traditional academics to trades, and from certificates to graduate degrees, the university offers more than 140 on-campus programs and 60 Open Learning programs. Students apply what they learn in co-op work terms, study abroad, undergraduate research, field schools and practicums, service learning and other opportunities, with guidance and mentorship by the university’s accessible faculty. Research, creation and innovation thrive in an open, flexible learning environment.

Scholarships

Full-time students of outstanding sporting ability who demonstrate athletic excellence by qualifying for one of Thompson Rivers University’s Varsity Teams may be considered for an International Athletic Scholarship.

 

International students accepted and enrolled in the university’s two-year Engineering Transfer program will be considered for an Engineering Scholarship. Two new international students per year will be selected to receive a CA$3000 scholarship each, divided over four semesters.

 

A limited number of Thompson Rivers University International Social Media Ambassador Awards of CA$1000 each are available for Canadian and international students who are interested in promoting the university worldwide as a study destination. Awards are intended to offer an incentive to second, third and fourth year students, to act as ambassadors for Thompson Rivers University World International Marketing. The award is competitive and assessments will consider several key criteria: the enthusiasm, the student’s academic transcript and the written statement submitted by the student.
